The metamorphosis of the old Customs Station Verviers West

It is not always easy to revive an old building. Yet it was the challenge of the Van der Valk, who took on a monument in the history of Verviers, namely the old Customs Station Verviers West dating from 1891.
After a year of construction, the Hotel Verviers just been officially opened. With its hundreds of rooms, large restaurant and ten seminar rooms, it offers all the luxuries demanded by customers of a four stars. All in a place that breathes history.
"This is obviously a great challenge," said the hotel management. "When we visited the scene, we quickly realized the potential they could offer at this hotel."
The result is a subtle blend of sophistication and luxury, where the touch of friendliness was not forgotten. The outer edge
at the rear of the hotel, site huts are located on land running the entire length of the building where the parking of 180 spaces will be constructed. There is currently drilling wells that allow, through the principles of geothermal energy, to help cool the hotel in summer and warm in winter. 62 wells are drilled to a depth of 120 meters. The ground floor
consists of the main entrance with reception, two conference rooms and "L'Entrepôt" which itself consists of a restaurant with 200 seats and a bar of 100 places (+ outdoor terrace). Wohrmann Marco, 22, who will manage the hotel with his wife Anne-Sophie, insists: "This restaurant and bar will be open to everyone, not just hotel guests. And we can find menus below 30 €. As for the rooms, the base price will be moderate: 95 to 100 € per night for a standard room is less than in the other four stars. " -
First floor
30 rooms are divided into standard rooms, standard rooms superior "business suites (with jacuzzi) and Presidential Suites (with raised bed and jacuzzi). -
Second floor
30 rooms, same configuration as the first. -
Third floor
40 duplex rooms . -
The basement
